Middle Belt Developmebt Authority

Overview

The Middle Belt Development Authority was established in 2017 by ACT 962 of the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana. The Authority exercises its mandate in Ashanti Region, the Brong Ahafo Region and the Eastern Region of the Republic of Ghana and it is the main vehicle for spearheading the development of these regions.

Northen Development Authority

Overview

The Northern Development Authority (NDA) was established in 2017 by ACT 963 of the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana. With the passage of the NDA ACT, the Act establishing the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority has been repealed and the NDA now exercises its mandate in the three regions of the north, namely Northern Region, Upper East Region and Upper West Region instead of SADA’s operational area. NDA is therefore the vehicle for driving the development agenda of the three regions of the north.

Why is MSDI Engaged in Direct Project Implementation?

MSDI started the implementation of the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP), a campaign promise of the government, because the Development Authorities were not yet established and there was the need to commence the implementation of this major campaign promise. The authorities are support to take over the full implementation of IPEP once they are fully in place and operational.

I don’t see what the Ministry is doing with our 1m Dollars per Constituency?

IPEP provide the framework for the disbursement of US$1 million Cedi equivalent. Under IPEP, the Ministry is constructing 1,000 limited community mechanized water systems with solar pumps under the “Water for All” initiative and 1,000 10-seater community institutional water closet bio-digester toilets with mechanized boreholes under the Sanitation project, across all 275 constituencies in the country. A total of 50 warehouses under the One District One Warehouse initiative are being constructed in some selected districts in the country whiles 570 small dams under the One Village One Dam initiative are being constructed in villages in the three regions of the North.

Costal Development Authority

Overview

The Coastal Development Authority (CDA) was established in 2017 by ACT 963 of the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana. CDA exercises its mandate in the Greater Accra Region, the Central Region, the Western Region and the Volta Region. It is the main vehicle for spearheading development in these regions.
